It is my pleasure to invite you to attend my 4th Annual Jobs Fair, being held on 23rd February at North Bromsgrove High School. With 2000+ jobs available from 60 organisations including Jaguar Land Rover, our sponsor Grimes Finishings and the British Army there will be something for everyone.
Driving the delivery of better broadband for Bromsgrove has consistently been one of my top priorities as your local MP. As such, I was delighted to see that figures released last week have shown that 94.5% of our homes, businesses and schools can now enjoy superfast broadband. That’s more than double the speed that Ofcom say is required by a typical family home, and demonstrates that the hard work going into this issue is paying off.
I understand, however, that despite the positive overall picture our rural communities can often struggle to secure a decent broadband connection. I met last week with the CEO of Openreach, Clive Selley, to find a solution to poor connectivity experienced by residents of Dodford and Upton Warren.
I am delighted to announce that after significant lobbying Clive has agreed to build a ‘full fibre’ FTTP network for both communities. This is excellent news for Bromsgrove.
