The Conservatives in Bromsgrove have revealed their manifesto for the District Council election on Thursday 7th May, describing it as “an ambitious programme for the next four years”.
The document, entitled “Next Steps for Bromsgrove District”, sets out the Conservatives’ priorities for the next term of Bromsgrove District Council.
The Conservative Group has placed financial responsibility at the top of its agenda, pledging to protect frontline services whilst keeping Council Tax low.
Other policies include additional funding for business start-ups in the District; a car parking review, with a view to extending free evening car parking beyond the current twelve-month trial; and a commitment to replacing the Dolphin Centre leisure centre.
Margaret Sherrey, Leader of the Conservative Group, said:
“We have set out a clear plan for the next four years of what a Conservative District Council in Bromsgrove would achieve. As the only party fielding candidates in every ward in the District, we have written a manifesto that reflects this – one that affects every village in the area, and not just the town centre.”
She added:
“The first priority for the Conservatives is protecting frontline services in Bromsgrove. But we also have to stress the importance of spending money wisely. Unlike the other parties, we will not make unfunded spending commitments just because it is election time.
“The manifesto is a strong statement of what the Conservatives can do with another four years in control of the District Council. I ask Bromsgrove’s residents to vote Conservative on the 7th May, and keep financial responsibility, as well as sustainable growth and investment, here in Bromsgrove District.”
