Bromsgrove's historic Court Leet held the annual Fair Day on Saturday 23rd July: the closest Saturday to midsummer. Calling back to Bromsgrove's identity as a market town, the Court originally begin as a trading standards organisation and still carries out the annual assizes of the bread, leather and ale on Fair Day and walks the market.
Local MP Sajid Javid and local councillors Karen May, Phil Thomas, Malcolm Glass and Chairman of the Council Caroline Spencer joined the procession through the town. Sajid and Karen took the opportunity to visit the stalls and shops on market day to talk to the traders, with Karen thanked by traders as "the woman who saved the market".
