It is with tremendous grief and sadness that we mark the passing of Her Majesty the Queen. Over a seventy-year reign, the country and the world have changed almost beyond recognition, but Her Majesty remained a constant and unwavering presence that could be relied upon without doubt. The loss of this presence has shaken us all.
Her Majesty once said that “grief is the price we pay for love”. The terrible grief that we and so many around the world now feel reflects the unparalleled love and respect that we all felt for Her Majesty.
As we mourn the loss of Her Majesty, we take this time to reflect upon her life of public duty and dedication to our country and so many others. We all share in this grief, but particular thoughts go out to the Royal Family during this time of sorrow.
Her Majesty formed the bedrock around which we built our Modern Britain, and we will never see her like again. How fortunate we are to have lived whilst she reigned.
Her Majesty will be sorely missed.
